Sendmarc’s DMARC management platform supports various methods of Single Sign-On (SSO), including Okta Single Sign-On (SSO), which allows your organization to centrally manage access to Sendmarc via Okta and comply with access control policies.

The Okta SSO settings are controlled by your administrator inside Sendmarc’s DMARC management platform. These settings can be disabled, enabled, or forced, and from here, your organization can choose its provider.

What is Okta Single Sign-On (SSO)?

Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) is a centralized authentication process that allows users to access Sendmarc’s DMARC management platform with a single set of credentials approved by your organization in the Okta Identity Provider (IdP).

How does Okta SSO work?

Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) creates a trusted relationship between the user, the authentication system, and the applications they need to access.

The Okta SSO process

User verification
  • When a user attempts to access an application, an authentication request is sent to Okta.
  • The user is redirected to Okta’s secure sign-in page – they then provide their login credentials to confirm their identity.
  • If configured, the user must complete more security challenges, such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), to verify their identity.
Token verification
  • Okta generates an authentication token that holds the user’s identity and access privileges information.
  • The user is redirected back to the application with this token, which verifies it and grants access.
  • The user can then move between different applications integrated with Okta SSO without needing to log in repeatedly as long as the token remains valid.
